2020 and 2021 were challenging times for all of us. We were thrown into a strange new way of life, and those who felt it more than most were students.
Hoping to move to pastures new and experience University life in all its glory, many students were told to stay home, and online learning became commonplace. However, HSBC believed that it was still a student’s time to shine.

HSBC wanted to get as many students to set up an account with them before starting their studies, giving the students one less thing to worry about as they started their lives in higher education. With aspirations to become the UK’s leader in Student Current Accounts, HSBC looked to us to help make it happen.
We created a campaign that would throw HSBC Student Current Accounts directly into the student spotlight. With a combined effort across video, social, partnership (including UCAS and Student Beans), digital display and paid search. We supported HSBC UK to a few placement firsts, including the exciting world of both TikTok and Twitch. We made sure that HSBC was always in the right place at the right time.

How we went beyond expectation
We helped HSBC generate excitement, positivity and empowerment by highlighting the benefits of a Student Current Account paired with incentives tailored to the student target audience.
The videos were watched a staggering amount of times while our ads on UCAS, and our paid search ads, performed above target. Our award-winning campaign (Best Social Campaign for the Digidays 2021) struck gold.
