What are email design frameworks?
Email design frameworks are systems used to streamline the creation of your customer comms, whilst keeping them looking consistent.
The framework itself is a breakdown of designed email module templates, which have been created to accommodate all different types of content – for example, text only, text with an image, image with call to action etc. Every possible module that can be used exists within the framework, meaning the designer or developer can easily select the module they need and populate with content.
This can significantly reduce the time it takes to design an email from start to finish. And when embarking on a large comms project, will help to keep designs consistent and recognisable by the customer.
Approach to Email Design Frameworks
Audit
Our first step will always be to review the needs of the client, and the different content types we need to accommodate for. This means we can create a framework which offers flexibility, without becoming too big and unruly to manage.
Exploration
Taking the requirements and exploring how best to create module templates which are on brand, fitting for the identified content types, and aligns to email best practice.
Technical Excellence
Having beautiful modules is one thing - but they need to render beautifully on devices. For each module, we make sure to consider mobile and desktop views, light and dark modes, plus further considerations for each email client.
